If you told me two years ago that I would be living across the country from my brick and mortar business, acting as the CEO with total faith in my team to run the day-to-day, and living the small-town life I’ve always dreamed of, I would have laughed in your face.

Not because it wasn’t what I wanted, but because I didn’t think it was possible.

Building a brick and mortar business is vastly different from building an online business, and because of that, brick and mortar CEOs need a different type of support…

we have a hard time mentally separating “business owner” from “shopkeeper.”
we get lost in the belief that stepping away from our business, even for just a day, would cause things to implode.
we live in reaction mode, making decisions out of necessity instead of empowerment.
we end up creating our own 9-5, something that we were trying to escape in the first place.

But the fact of the matter is, you didn’t open your doors to be answering phone calls and emails all day. You did it because you have a passion for helping people, creating community, and the services you offer.

I love your passion and drive. I love that you give your all to your business. Now let’s flip the script and let your business give its all to you.

You have a choice to make. Will you continue to let your business run your life? Or will you push past the fear and discomfort, really listen to your inner voice, and take big steps towards the life that you daydream about?

By now, the decision should be pretty clear.

I first started my brick and mortar business, Club Fetch, because I was living alone in Philly and desperately wanted to adopt a dog. I searched high and low for a company that I could rely on to help me care for my pet when I was busy with work, friends, and life. But nowhere felt right. Sure, there were doggie daycares, but none of them had the community aspect that I craved.

So, I created it myself.

At the beginning of my business, we did just about everything—dog walking, in-home pet sitting, boarding, and doggie daycare. As you can imagine, it was completely overwhelming and I was on a one-way trip to burnout city.

As scary as it was, 2020 was my chance to slow down, take a deep breath, and evaluate everything that was going on in my business. Even though everyone thought I was crazy, I made the big decision to cut everything except doggie daycare out of our business model.

When I got sick with you-know-what and was forced to take time off from my business for the first time since it opened, I came to an even crazier realization… What if I just never went back?

I restructured my systems, built a staff that I trust with my life, and started actively working towards that life of freedom that I had been visualizing.

Nowadays I live halfway across the country in Breckenridge CO with my significant other and our two pups, soaking up the small-town bliss, living the remote CEO life of my dreams, and helping other brick and mortar business owners do the same.
